The term 'Governance' needs to be interrogated from the perspective of opportunity and space for ensuring gender equity within any given society. To use Hooks' (2007) proposition, it has considerable transformative potential to promote the voices of women, especially those seen to be in the 'margin', who are actually the 'centre'. The United Nations Development Programmer (UNDP) defines governance as “the exercise of political, economic and administrative authority to manage a country's affairs.
